A few weeks back we visited South Konnevesi National park. This trip was a part of our this year´s agenda to visit our home country and see all the beautiful things in it.
It was a cold winter day. About -15°C, maybe even a bit colder. But cold is only a matter of right clothes. And anyway, we didn´t mind the cold because it was the most beautiful winter day. Sun was shining from a cloudles sky and it wasn´t windy at all. An on top of that this winter has been extraordinary snowy in Finland.
We visited the park on our way back from our relatives, so we didn´t have the whole day. We decided to walk the Kalaja circuit (Kalajankierros) which climbes up the Kalaja “mountain”, which in fact is just a high hill. We were a bit worried before if we shoud have snow shoes, because the word online was that the paths and tracks aren´t kept up. Well, we didn´t need any extra gear, because there was a track beaten by the visitors.
It was just beautiful. Almost no people. Loads and loads of snow and sun. Here are the photos. Enjoy! As always, click the photos to see them bigger.
